Catawba, SC – Mrs. Barbara Jackson Mercer, 86, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at her home.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Laurelwood Cemetery, Laurel Street, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Jesse Sims officiating.
Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Mercer was the daughter of the late Raymond Wesley Jackson and the late Iona Lyles Huddleston Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Amos John Mercer; sons, Raymond Dyches, Bobby Mercer, Ricky Mercer, Gregory Dyches; brothers, Raymond and Jimmy Jackson; her sisters, Alice Walden, and Margaret Greene. She was retired from Celanese Corporation as a Beamer. She loved feeding the animals, she was a “card carrying member of Tractor Supply”. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mercer is survived by her son, Philip Dyches (Neeley Ingram) of Catawba; two daughters, Lori Haskett of Fort Mill, SC, Deanna Mercer of Catawba; two brothers, Dan Jackson and Mike Jackson both of Rock Hill; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and many nephews and nieces.
