Rock Hill, SC – Annie Simmons Broom, 89, passed away on September 19, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center. Born on April, 2, 1935 in Rhodhiss, NC, to the late R. Jeff Simmons and Lola Fulton Simmons. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Drye; brothers, William Simmons and Gene Simmons; and sister, Betty Tyndal.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Teresa Dawkins (Kevin) of Matthews, NC; son, Gary Broom (Donna) of Suwanee, GA; sister, Carol Long (Cecil) of Fort Mill, SC; six grandchildren, Ashley Williams (Erik), Shaun Horn (Kristin), Danny Dawkins (Vicky), Dianna Ayers (Brad), Brandon Drye, Brittany Drye; two great-grandchildren, Sammy Horn and Grace Horn.
Ann found joy working in her yard, exploring thrift stores, and entertaining her friends. She adored her dog, Coco, and loved the beach.
A visitation will be held at 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
