Rock Hill, SC – Anita Williams Sumrall, 84, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.

A service for Anita will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Faith Church, 2800 Faith Blvd., Rock Hill, SC, with Rev. Brian Keith officiating. An additional service and burial will take place on Friday, August 16, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL at Hardage – Giddens Town and Country funeral home, Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL at 10 am with interment to follow.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, Anita was the daughter of the late Leland L. Williams and the late Daisy Munday Williams. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. After finishing school, she devoted her wisdom and her talents to work in various administrative roles, which included bookkeeping, accounting and banking. Before moving to South Carolina from Florida, Anita continued to work following her official retirement because of her deep love for others and desire to be with others.

Anita became an ordained minister, along with her husband, Louis Sumrall. They started First Christian Fellowship in Butler, AL and served in ministry for more than 20 years. After moving to Rock Hill, SC, Anita joined Faith Church. Her church became a second family and she consistently found ways to serve, sometimes leading prayer groups, baking cookies for the homeless, or helping with the missions ministry. She loved her family well and never missed an opportunity to tell people about Jesus.

Surviving are her daughter, Kim (Mark) Crumpton; two sons, David (Lisa) Jones of Chester, SC, and Keith (Nia) Parmer of Wakulla Springs, FL; four granddaughters, Maria Parmer, Magnolia Parmer, Natalie (Josh) Cummings, and Savannah Jones; two grandsons, Matthew (Jillian) Crumpton, Cody Jones; her brother, Eugene (Pam) Williams of Jacksonville, FL; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Anita’s name to the Mission Ministry at Faith Church, 2800 Faith Blvd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
