CATAWBA – Mrs. Alma L. Hyatt, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2024, at her home.

The family is hosting visitation at 1 p.m. with a memorial service following at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The services will be held at Greene’s Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill with Michael Kimble officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

Born in Shulerville, S.C., Mrs. Hyatt was a daughter of the late Joe Clayton Lewis and the late Mary Mae White Lewis. She was a retired owner of Hyatt Insulating Company, Inc. in Catawba. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed vacationing at the beach, motorcycle riding in the mountains, a good shopping trip, and watching the sunset on Lake Wateree.

Surviving are her loving companion, Charlie Coggins; her longtime best friend, Judy Moore; her daughters, Kelly Hyatt (Van Robinson) of Rock Hill and Michelle Hyatt of Rock Hill; her daughter-in-law Bunny Hyatt of Catawba; her bonus sons, Euris Hyatt and his wife, Mary of Catawba and Roger W. Hyatt of Nashville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Linda Martinsen (T.J.), John Hyatt (Amanda), Tiffany Moore (Daymon), Justin Moore (Jessica), Kayla Sturgis (La Cardi) , Lorne Walters, Meaghan Andrews (Jackson), Matthew Hyatt and Keirsten Bolton; her great-grandchildren, Jasmine Young, Marylee Hyatt, John Luke Hyatt, Raelyn Moore, Jace Moore, Kennedi Andrews, Waylon Andrews, Caroline Andrews, and Jett Moore; and her brothers Samuel Lewis (Kay), Furman Lewis (Barbara), and Mendel Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Hyatt, her son Johnny Hyatt, her daughter Fonda Hyatt, her sister Evie Schultz, and her brother Lester Lewis.

Memorials can be made in Mrs. Hyatt’s name to Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mt. Gallant Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
