Rock Hill, SC – Robert Haywood Jackson Jr., 76, passed away December 20, 2024, at Piedmont Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born March 31, 1948, in Rock Hill, SC to the late Robert H. Jackson Sr. and Martha Ferguson Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Baker Jackson; his children, Tory Jackson Parish (Adam) of Winter Garden, FL, and Robert H. Jackson III (Angie) of Lisbon, Portugal; sibling, Connie Jackson Ledford of Rock Hill; and grandchildren, Caitlyn Pike, Julia, Nathaniel, Quinn (Parish) and Ava, Brooklyn, Hayes (Jackson).
Mr. Jackson grew up in Neely’s Creek ARP Church and later joined College Park Baptist Church in Rock Hill. For the last forty-two years, he was a member and held many positions at Catawba Baptist Church including deacon and choir member. He served in the United States Army Reserve for seven years. For fifty-four years, he was a member of Rock Hill Masonic Lodge No. 111 serving in various positions, and he served as the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the South Carolina Grand York Rite Bodies. He was an avid outdoorsman and a loyal fan of the Gamecocks having graduated from the University of South Carolina. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, and he loved his family dearly.
The funeral service for Mr. Jackson will be on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11 AM at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 S. Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29730 with Dr. Thomas Huddleston officiating and Dr. Ron Richardson assisting. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10 AM. The interment will take place after the service at Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery.
