Roger Odell Carter Sr., born on November 29, 1943, passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 81, in his hometown of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
He enjoyed playing music, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his friends at the beach. He was a Mason and a Shriner.
Roger is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nadine H. Carter; his daughters Pam Hicks (Carl) and Wendy McCall; his sons, Donnie (Jackie) Moss and Keith (Jennifer) Moss; his grandson, Derek Carter who he raised as his own, 12 grandchildren, 3 brothers, David (Cathy) Carter, Calvin (Paulette) Carter, Donald (Phyllis) Carter and Brother-in-Law, Jack Carnes. He was preceded by his parents Johnny and Beatrice (Fields) Carter; his son, Roger Carter Jr.; brothers, Aaron Carter and Jimmy Carter; grandson, Jeffery Drew Carter and sister Gladys Carter Carnes, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carter retired from Celanese after 29 years.
A service for Roger will be held at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Road Rock Hill, SC 29732. Guests can pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place immediately after the service at 3:00 p.m. at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road.
