After leaving the Marine Corps, he returned home and spent the next 37 years swinging shifts at Bowater. Guy retired in 2006 and spent every possible moment enjoying the outdoors to the fullest. He loved camping at Bowater Park, one of his favorite places, where he spent endless hours around the campfire laughing and enjoying stories with some of his dearest friends from Bowater, along with his family. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the water trying to catch his next trophy bass. Aside from all things outdoors his greatest love in life, his pride and joy were his wife, children, and his grandchildren.
