Chester, SC – Mrs. Betty Jean English, 70, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Pastor Thomas Tatum officiating.
Born in Charlotte, NC, Betty was the daughter of James Bartley Liles and Virginia Kuykendoll. She was preceded in death by her siblings, David Kuykendoll, Sheila Cope, Tommy Liles, Butch Liles, and Billy Liles. She learned to drive an 18-wheeler in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s. She started driving with her husband, James in 1992. They dated for 5 years and were then married for 28 years, for a total of 33 years together. Betty loved country music and dancing, especially line dancing. She also enjoyed watching football on Sundays and was a huge Carolina Panthers fan. Above all else, she loved taking care of her family.
Surviving are her husband, James English; her children, Bobby and Lori Brooks of Charlotte, Ginny Brooks and Jerrell Brumly of Belmont, Robin and Dewayne House of Chester, Miriam and Shane Deal of Cherryville, and Robert and Bethany Ganus of Rock Hill; her brother, Ray Hopper; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
