Charlotte, NC – Sally Tompkins Boger, aged 94, peacefully passed away in her home on October 9, 2024. Born on September 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Norman F. and Gladys W. Tompkins.
Sally was the beloved wife of the late William Boger, and her life was marked by love and companionship. She was also preceded in death by her son, Herbert Boger; daughter, Barbara Boger Parker; sister, Janet Nicholas; and son-in-law, Doug Jester.
She leaves behind a legacy of love with her surviving family: daughters Belinda Boger Jester (partner David Fernie) and Sarah Boger Barrick (Michael); sister Mary Lou Hill; grandchildren Brooks Jester (Jaclyn), Matthew Jester (Jackie), Samuel Jester, Lindsay Barrick, Allyn Barrick (Lauren), and Barbara’s widower, Mike Parker, along with their sons Michael and Brett Parker.
Her joy in her later years was amplified by her great-grandchildren: Atleigh, Lily, Molly, Reagan, Harrison, Jaxsyn, Adelaide, and Georgie.
A dedicated member of Holy Comforter, Sally served as the church secretary and was actively involved in church activities. Her passion for travel was shared with William, exploring the world together. An ardent sports enthusiast, she cheered fervently for the Atlanta Braves.
Life by Lake Wylie brought her immense joy, where she cherished moments with family and delighted in watching her great-grandchildren thrive. Sally’s love for animals was well-known, especially for her family’s Golden Retrievers, Myrtle Mae and Elwood, who will miss her dearly.
In memory of Sally, donations may be directed to Samaritan’s Purse (PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in lieu of flowers, to continue her spirit of giving and compassion.
