It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Hasenjaeger on Tuesday morning, September 24, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Rebecca (Becky), his son Nathan and wife Ligita (Lee), and his daughter Kathryn (Katie) Barbagelata and husband Daniel. He was a proud Pop Pop to his granddaughter, Lilith Hasenjaeger, whom he adored.
Richard worked for over 40 years as an electrical engineer, dedicating his career to fire safety at FM Global, where he made a lasting impact with his expertise and commitment.
Born the eldest of six children, Richard cherished his siblings deeply and held a special bond with them throughout his life.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Greene Funeral Home, 2133 Ebenezer Road, on Friday, September 27th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 28th, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 2697 Heckle Blvd.
Richard will be remembered for his kindness and generosity, and his life’s work in keeping others safe, beginning with his ascension to Eagle Scout at age thirteen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
