Rock Hill, SC – Joyce Brown Stubbs, 91, passed away on August 21, 2024 at Hospice and Community Care. She was born on August 6, 1933 in Pineville, NC, to the late Kermit and Eunice Brown. She is preceded in death by her brother, J.C. Brown; and grandson, Jacob Goodin.
Joyce is survived by her son, Stephen Stubbs; four daughters, Faith Meadows (Eddie), Hope Prevette (Randy), Cynthia Lopez (Bob), Joy Adamson (Scott); eight grandchildren, Brad Prevette (Zipporah), Clint Goodin (Rachael), Justin Prevette (Chelsea), Chuck Goodin (Jamie), Nicole Lopez, Phillip Stubbs (Becca) Michelle Lopez, Madison Ewing; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved the piano, whether she was playing or listening. Her musical talent was self-taught, relying on her natural gift for playing by ear. Her singing, though often off-key, was always a source of joy for her and for those around her. She loved gardening and watching plants flourish. Her sweet tooth led her to bake a variety of delightful and tasty treats. Most of all, she treasured being with her children, no matter how noisy or chaotic the moments became.
There will be a graveside service for Joyce Brown Stubbs on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2 PM at Crown Memorial Park at 9620 Rodney St, Pineville, NC 28134.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyce Brown Stubbs’s name to Pruitt Health, 261 S Herlong Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
