Rock Hill, SC – Dottie Elizabeth Callaham, 83, went home to Jesus on July 21, 2024 from her community home of Willowbrook Independent Living in Rock Hill, SC.
Dottie will be cremated and placed at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
Dottie was born on February 6, 1941 to Whaley and Elizabeth Browder in Andrews, SC. Her parents were blessed with 9 children, 6 girls and 3 boys. They were part of a farm with sorted animals and vegetation. Following a wonderful childhood she met her husband in Columbia, SC. They later moved to Greenwood, SC, where she became a mother to her 3 children.
Dottie was a dedicated mother. She found great joy in cooking for her family and in teaching her children about Jesus. She consistently showed her love for them through prayer and sacrifice. Dottie has truly been a legacy for her children, grandchildren, and with the hope of great-grandchildren following in the same footsteps of Jesus Christ. She was very passionate to tell you about her faith. Her last years she enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and always loved reading her bible.
Dottie is survived by her daughters, Brenda Ghent and Teresa Simpson; her sons, Scott Parker and Jack Lawhorn; her grandchildren, Corey Simpson, Haley Callaham, Breanna Murphy, and Quincy Ghent; her great-grandchildren, Selah and Bear Murphy, and Branson, Liam, Allison Gonce, and Grady Ghent, and Penelope Simpson; and her sisters, Dora Sowell, Mildred Crib, and Vera Knab.
