Linda Gordon Snipes, 81, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Born on July 23, 1942, a native and resident of Rock Hill her entire life, Linda was the daughter of the late William Marion Gordon and Inez King Gordon.  In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by a sister, JoFreida Gordon Giles (Larry).

Linda was a 1960 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a proud member of the fighting Bearcat varsity cheerleading squad during her high school days.  She also attended Winthrop College (University).

Mrs. Snipes co-founded the highly successful Southern Realty of York County Inc. in 1978 along with her business partner Jean Gaillard.  Linda took great pride in mentoring many new real estate agents who became very successful in the Rock Hill area housing market.  The professional sales team that Linda and Jean created at Southern Realty became a dominant-leading sales force in the local real estate industry from the late 1970’s through mid-1990’s, listing and selling hundreds of homes annually before the real estate brokerage agency was sold to Allen Tate Realty in 1994.  Mrs. Snipes continued to work for Allen Tate Realty and was a perennial top sales leader for several consecutive years.  During her real estate sales career spanning over 45 years, Linda held many industry leadership positions, including president of the York County Association of Realtors.

Mrs. Snipes is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles E. Snipes Jr.; two sons, Charles E. Snipes III (KayKay) of Greensboro, NC, and Gordon Todd Snipes (Michelle) of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, Lauren Snipes Anderson (Will) of Greensboro, NC, Sarah Ann Snipes of Charlotte, NC, William Joseph Snipes of Charleston, SC, Charles E.
