Edward A Pelt (Ed), 75, passed away at his home on Friday, July 12, 2024. Mr. Pelt was born in Albemarle, NC on December 25, 1948. He was the late son of Arthur Perry Pelt and Jewell Maudlin Pelt.
Ed served his country in the US Air Force from August 1968 until retirement in March 1989 as a Tech Sergeant in Telecommunications. He served three different tours in Thailand during the Vietnam ERA. He was based throughout his career in the United States and Europe. He served three years in JCSE at McDill AFB. After his military career, he worked for the Rock Hill Police Department as a dispatcher until he retired in March 2010.
He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post 34.
Ed is survived by his wife of 43 years Susan Hunter Pelt. Son Joe Bowen (Ida) Grandchildren April Bowen Mullis (Jon) Alex Bowen (Jodi) Garrett A Bowen. Brother-in-law Jerry Hunter (Carol Ann) Sandy Hunter. He was predeceased by his sister Lydia Pelt Hozey.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10 am Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill SC 29732. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM. Urn burial with military honors will be at Grandview Memorial Park-Cherry Road, immediately after the service.
