Rock Hill, SC – Heyward Ervin Baker, 84, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A Graveside Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, with Mark Bradley officiating.
Born in Rock Hill, SC Mr. Baker was the son of the late James Claude Baker and the late Oney Estelle Shugart. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, baseball, NASCAR, and loved sitting on his back porch.
Surviving is his daughter, Debra Lynn Baker and his granddaughter Sarah Mackenzie Dodson; his sisters, Evelyn Deyton, Grace Neely (Donald) and Von Earle (Charlie); and his brother Bob Baker (Sylvia). He is preceded in death by his brothers, James Claude Baker Jr., Daniel Ellis Baker, Homer Jasper Baker, and Billy Joe Baker; as well as his sisters, Sally Isabel Freeman and Tony Virginia Tinker.
Mr. Baker will be remembered by all for being such a great guy. He always enjoyed getting together with family and friends as it usually involved good laughs and conversation. He had a kind heart and would do anything to help his family.
After the graveside service the family will have a get together at the home of Von Earle. 552 Douglas Dr. Rock Hill, SC.
