Mr. William Samuel Bennett “Captain Bill” 82, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Hospice & Community Care.
Mr. Bennett was born in Totz, KY, Bennett was the son of the late Lillie Creech Ellison. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Douglas and William Gary Bennett. Mr. Bennett was retired from Duke Power Company and after retirement he obtained his Captains License and opened Stripper Time Guide Service in Chapin SC, as a fishing guide. Mr. Bennett was a U. S. Army veteran. Fishing and family were his life.
Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, with Rev. Kenny Vinson officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park – Hollis Lakes Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time service at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his daughters, Julie (Michael) Riggs of Rock Hill, SC and Priscilla (Tod) Rogers of Rock Hill, SC; his grandchildren, Tyler Bennett, Alex Riggs, Darren Smith, Courtney Williams; his two great-grandchildren, McKinley Williams, and Emersen Williams; his five sisters, Sue Bewley of Morristown, TN, Anne Carr of Emmitsburg, MD, Joleen Cullison, Betty Bullington of Morristown, TN, Kim Patton of Morristown, TN; several nieces and nephews.
