Rock Hill, SC – June Marie Lyons Pittman, 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 9:50 am on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will be held at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Born in Bamberg, SC, Mrs. Pittman was the daughter of the late James P. Lyons and the late Annie Priester Lyons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry G. Pittman, and her son, Jim Pittman.
Mrs. Pittman was a dedicated and very proud military wife and mother; her husband and her two sons chose to serve their country in the service. She retired from AT&T after many years of service. She thoroughly enjoyed weekly gatherings with friends over dinner. Her favorite hobby was crocheting. Mrs. Pittman crocheted afghans and often donated them to CVAN, the Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network.
Surviving are her son, John R (Debra) Pittman of Fort Mill, SC; her brother, Buster (Bonnie) Lyons; her granddaughter, Michelle (David) Kennard; her two grandsons, Sam Pittman and Jerry Pittman, III; six great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Becky Pittman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Pittman’s name to CVAN, Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network, 543 Concord Parkway N., Concord, NC 28027.
