Rock Hill, SC – Jody V. Faile went into the arms of our loving Savior on June 13, 2024 at his home. Jody was born on January 9, 1959 in Rock Hill, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Eugene Faile; and brother, Cody Eugene Faile. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Hamby Faile; former wife, Debra Deas Faile; nephew, Jeffrey Eugene Faile (Nicole); great-nephew, Cody McLean Faile; and sister-in-law Teresa Faile.

Jody retired just five months ago from Piedmont Medical Center where he was the Equipment Manager for 25 years. He thought the world of his employees. Preceding Piedmont Medical, he worked as a manager for CVS/Revco Drugs, and for Springdale Superette. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Lesslie Fire Department from 1975 to 1983.

God gave Jody the remarkable talent to play drums. He was with bands all his life, including the House Band at the Long Branch in the 80’s. However, in 2009, he chose to use his talent to praise Jesus. Since then, he has been the drummer with the band “Unchained” at Catawba Baptist Church. He did not want the music to just be okay; he wanted it to be perfect for Jesus. He loved golf. When he retired, he bought a new set of golf clubs hoping it would help him to “win the rabbit.” He truly enjoyed getting together with his golf buddies.

Jody loved his mom. He has been taking care of Ruby for many years. In fact, whenever Ruby’s name was mentioned, his face would light up because he was so thankful for how well she is doing at 97 years old. He thought the world of his sister-in-law, Teresa. Every other Sunday after church, the family would go out to eat, and he would always say, “It’s your turn to pick where we go.” He was so proud of his nephew, Jeff, and great-nephew, “Little Cody.” He proudly had Little Cody’s pictures throughout his house. Jody loved his former wife, Debbie, with all his heart and would do anything for her. They loved traveling to see tropical beaches and islands, enjoying the beautiful world God created. They were both so grateful for the extra time that God gave them to be together again. He will be missed by many.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10 AM at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 Anderson Road S, Rock Hill, SC, 29730. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11 AM with Reverend Dr. Ron Richardson officiating.
