Rock Hill, SC – Johnnie G. “Gerald” Williams, Sr., passed away on May 16, 2024.
Gerald is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Lila J. Williams who went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2020. He is also predeceased by his son, Johnnie Gerald Williams, Jr. who passed away on January 28, 2024.
Gerald was retired from the US Army with 22 years of Active Duty. He served in the Korean War after enlisting at the age of 17. He also served two tours of combat in the Vietnam War. Upon his retirement from the US Army, he retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system after serving as the ROTC instructor at Olympic High School for over 20 years.
Gerald enjoyed any outdoor activity. He especially enjoyed anything related to hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his sons, Scott Williams (Kindra), and Jeff Williams (Kelley); grandchildren, Aaron Williams, Whitney Williams (Jared); Trinity Smith (Jackson); and two great grandchildren, Atlas Williams and Sullivan Williams.
