Susan Baker, 84, died peacefully at home on Sunday April 14, 2024.
Susan was born on August 14, 1939, in York, SC, to Coit and Ista (Elder) Lineberger. She grew up in Dallas, NC, and graduated from Dallas High School. She also graduated from the Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse.
Susan married Warren Baker in 1962 and they made their home in Raleigh, NC, and then in Charlotte, NC, where they raised two daughters. Later, they lived in Huntersville, NC, and finally, Rock Hill, SC. Susan was a nurse at the Methodist Home, Nalle Clinic, and CNA Insurance in Charlotte, and a member of the Friends of the York County Library in Rock Hill.
Susan is survived by her daughters Paige Baker (Sean Collins) of Green Bay, WI, and Leigh Baker of Rock Hill, SC; grandsons, Jack Collins of Milwaukee, WI, Nick Acus of Rock Hill, SC, Robbie Collins of Marquette, MI, and Ben Acus of Rock Hill, SC.
A service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 3 pm, at India Hook United Methodist Church, 3300 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The church is hosting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
