Linda Lee Koeth, 73, of Fort Mill, SC passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024, with her children by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Linda was born in Germany on August 29, 1950, to the late Loren C. and Hilda Lee. Linda grew up in Oneonta, New York, graduating from Oneonta High School in 1968, and spent much of her life in the Binghamton, New York area. Later in life she moved to the Carolinas to be closer to her children. Driven by her strong desire to help others, Linda pursued a degree in nursing, graduating in 2009 from Wake Technical Community College becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) at age 59.
Linda is survived by her son Michael Hisman and wife, Bonnie (Tega Cay, SC), and her daughter, Stacy Hisman and boyfriend DJ (Charlotte, NC). She is also survived by her brother John and his family in Satellite Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her brother Bobby.
Linda had a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She embarked on a solo trip to Ireland in 2023, checking off a bucket list item. She had a lifelong love of animals, in particular dogs, including Serenity Ann her nursing school study buddy, and Noa her support and protector during the last years of her life.
The family would like to extend a personal thank you to those who provided their love and support especially during her illness, including Nicole and her staff at Dogtopia Fort Mill who took great care of her treasured dog, Noa. To her dear friend, Sally, and teammates at Alliant Health who rallied around her and their “Love4Linda.” Thank you to her team of doctors who worked tirelessly on her treatment.
In lieu of flowers, consider memorials in Linda’s name to the Humane Society of York County (https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/). No services are planned at this time.
