Robert O’Neal (“RO”) McFadden was born February 14th, 1951 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10th at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, South Carolina after complications from a stroke. He was 72 years old.
Robert, fondly known by most as RO, was a die-hard Gamecock fan, avid skier, and the life of every party. He never met a stranger. RO was the kind of person who lived life to the fullest and without any regrets. He was witty, adventurous, and always down to have a good time. RO loved traveling and some of his most fond travels included skiing all over Europe with friends in his younger years; however, as he grew older and settled down a bit, there’s no other place he would rather be than lazing on Litchfield Beach in South Carolina with his loved ones.
RO is survived by his two children, Marshall Elizabeth (McFadden) Perez and husband, Gill, and John Phillip McFadden and wife, Anna, as well as his beloved beagle, Ellie. He is also loved and remembered by his former wife, Rebecca McFadden, his Locke cousins, and his many lifelong friends. RO was predeceased by his mother, Frances Locke Marshall and his stepfather Franklin Dewey Marshall, Jr.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful and compassionate people at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill for allowing RO to live out his final days as comfortably as possible.
The family is currently making plans for a celebration of life to be held after the holidays. Further details will be shared soon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in RO’s memory to Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House (https://hospicecommunitycare.org/give-back/#memorial) or to the animal charity of your choice.
