Chester, SC – Timothy “Tim” Cortopassi was born in East Chicago, Indiana, to Anna and Orest Cortopassi. They later moved to Calumet City, Illinois where he attended school.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church, 1229 South Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with Reverend Tyler Donough officiating. Visitation with family and friends will follow at the church.
Tim and Kathy were married for 36 years. Tim graciously and willingly accepted, raised, and loved Kathy’s two sons, Scott and Brian Stein (Eri), as his own, and they had three of their own: Abbie Christiansen (Micah), Amanda Clidence (James) and TJ Cortopassi (Amy). They have 12 grandchildren. He adored them as much as they loved him. He has one brother Carl and one niece Natalie.
Tim worked for 20 years at StarCase Manufacturing in Munster, IN, as well as the family business, Voice to Print Captioning, for five years. He faithfully attended and loved his church, Southside Baptist Church of Rock Hill and his home in Chester, SC. He was a great husband and father.
A quiet man of sarcastic humor and a sincere listener, he judged no man nor woman, sacrificing, just like his Savior, his time, money and dreams for those whom he loved.
Tim went to be with his Lord Jesus on May 1, 2023. The family wants to thank Dr. Holiday and medical teams at MUSC Chester and Novant Presbyterian in Charlotte for their excellent and hard work trying to revive Tim, but they lost that wrestling match to Jesus.
