ROCK HILL - Mr. Clem Thomas Ligon, Sr., 93, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Laurelwood Cemetery with Rev. Barry Yates officiating.
Born in Chester County, Mr. Ligon was a son of the late George N. Ligon and the late Hannah Parrish Ligon. He was a US Army veteran serving in the European Theatre during WWII and a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34. He was retired from Marshall Oil Company with over 40 years of service and also retired from Enterprise Leasing with 19 years of service. He was a member of West End Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing music on the guitar, mandoline or fiddle. He was the widower of Bobbie Long Ligon.
Surviving are his children, Deborah Hoover (Rick) of Rock Hill, Sherrie Myers of Raleigh, NC, C. Thomas Ligon, Jr. (Norma) of Rock Hill and Richard A. Ligon, Sr. (Rita) of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his brother, John “Jack” Ligon (Mary) of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill.
